Membership in the Order

To be a member of the Order of Saint John is a most distinguished honor and one that carries with it unique privileges and special recognition throughout the Christian world.  Our sovereign and noble Order has the authority and historical right to properly, and with distinction, bestow on its members the valid status of knighthood, titles of nobility, military rank, and diplomatic status.  Membership in the Order also carries duties and responsibilities which can be summed up as requiring an intense devotion to God and country, and a serious commitment to the preservation of our Christian Civilization.

As a noble, hereditary, aristocratic, Christian institution, the Order is open to sincere Christians whose forebearers originated in those great nations of Europe from which the Knights of the Order originally came - these countries which historically comprised what was known as Christendom.  Now in its tenth century of existence, the Order of Saint John is one of the oldest orders of the Catholic Church - having been in existence hundreds of years before the breaking up of Christendom.  As such, the Order continues to adhere to those infallible doctrines and unchangeable truths taught by Christ, the Apostles, and the Fathers and Doctors of the Church.  Therefore, the Order particularly seeks Traditional Catholics for its members.

Since the Order of Saint John is a Sovereign Christian State (in addition to, and apart from, its being a religious order) the Order can admit a limited number of outstanding non-Catholic Christians, who, like the the Catholic members, become citizens of this sovereign nation and noble subjects of its government.  Even though they are not yet in full comunion with the Church, they recognize the nobility and historicity of the Order of Saint John, as well as its valid claims and holy mission, and they swear their allegiance to the Sovereign Order in the battle to reverse the satanic revolution now engulfing the world and destroying the fruits of our past Christian Civilization.

Permitting a non-Catholic to join the Sovereign Order (or for the Order to bestow an honor or recognition on a non-Catholic individual for his or her outstanding achievement or dedicated work) does not change the nature or character of the Order, and more than allowing a non-Catholic to attend a Catholic university and receive a degree or diploma will change the character or mission of the university.  We might add that the admission of an intelligent, idealistic non-Catholic Christian often results in his conversion to Catholicism.

However; as a matter of fact, few non-Catholics apply for admission to the Order, and fewer still can accept the beliefs, vows, code and stated mission of the Order.  Futhermore, only a Catholic Knight of long tenure can hold high rank in the Order, or be elected to the position of Grand Master.  And, let it be understood that no one will be inducted into the Order who is anti-Catholic or opposes the ancient doctrines and liturgy of the Church.  Moreover, membership in any secret, masonic, occult or anti-Christian organization, or the adherence to any secret oath, prohibits membership in the Order of Saint John.  There are no exceptions to this rule.

Admission to this great and renowned Order is by invitation, and, by the nature of the Order, limited.  Membership in the noble Order of Saint John is therefore small world-wide, because the Order seeks only men and women with Christian ideals and principles, outstanding character, talent and achievement, love of Country, and the courage to hold the fortress of morality and sanity in this chaotic and satanic age.

We live in a decadent age of materialism, immorality, hedonism, revolution and apostasy.  An all-out assault is being waged against all that is right and just, moral and godly, cultural and beautiful.  The very future of civilization is now in jeopardy.  These times require men and women of high ideals, apostolic zeal, uncommon wisdom, self-discipline, heroic courage, and a willingness to fight for our Lord and Saviour - Christ the King.  These are the people, young and old, we seek for the Sovereign Order!

Those men and women and youth who believe they have the noble ideals and character the Order requires, and who can commit themselves to the exceptional standars which have set the Order of Saint John above all others for nearly a thousand years, may request consideration for membership.  If approved, they will be admitted to this great , historic, religious-military order - the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.  Candidates for the Order many not request the rank to which they will be admitted.  That decision is determined by the Order after the review of each candidate's Personal History Declaration, his motivation and recommendations, and other factors.  Furthermore, once in the Order, a member is advanced on the basis of this character, dedication to the Order, and service to the noble cause we espouse.
